Dispute & Refund Policy
TaskUp protects accepted-offer payments until the task is approved or a dispute is resolved.
Before work begins
If payment fails, the task is not treated as protected and work should not begin. Chat is designed to unlock after the payment is secured.
After completion
When a Tasker marks a task complete, the client may approve the work. Approval releases the Tasker amount to the Tasker's connected Stripe account.
Opening a dispute
A participant can open a dispute during eligible task stages and should explain the issue and provide relevant evidence. Payment remains protected while the dispute is open.
Admin review
TaskUp staff may review the task description, accepted offer, payment state, messages, timestamps and submitted evidence. An admin can decide to release the protected Tasker amount or refund the client. The decision and reason are audit logged.
External payment disputes
A cardholder chargeback or payment-provider dispute is also subject to Stripe and card-network rules. TaskUp may preserve relevant records and suspend affected payouts while such a case is reviewed.
Effective 29 August 2026. This policy is presented in English while TaskUp localization is expanded.
